The Challenge
Launch a multi-restaurant delivery aggregator in a market with no established playbook: hundreds of restaurant and grocery catalogs, live fleet dispatch, a cash-heavy payment culture, and full Balkan localization — all on a budget that ruled out a big engineering team.
The Approach
I architected a multi-tenant, event-driven backend on Node.js and Firebase: real-time order pipelines, driver dispatch with live location tracking, and a catalog system flexible enough to model restaurants and grocery stores in the same platform.
Customer, restaurant, and driver apps shipped from a single Angular + Ionic codebase to iOS, Android, and web — so a tiny team could keep three audiences in sync while the order volume grew month after month.
Payments, refunds, and settlement were designed for a cash-first market that was steadily moving to cards — both flows ran through the same accounting pipeline, keeping reporting consistent as the mix shifted.
The Outcome
Ceger Dostava grew into the country's #2 food delivery aggregator, peaking above 80,000 orders a month, and was acquired by Korpa in 2022 — the platform ran through the acquisition without re-engineering.
The architecture proven at Ceger Dostava — multi-tenant, multi-vertical, event-driven — evolved into SuperApp — white-label multi-vertical marketplace platform, built at Devkart Technologies.
