Privacy Policy

This is the personal portfolio site of Pradeep Saran (devsaran.com). I keep data collection minimal and ask for your consent before loading any analytics. This page explains what is collected, why, and the choices you have.

1. Analytics (consent-based)

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. It loads only after you select "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you choose "Necessary only," no analytics script loads and no analytics cookies are set.

When enabled, analytics is configured to minimise data collection:

• IP addresses are anonymised.
• Google Signals and ad-personalisation signals are disabled.
• No advertising or cross-site tracking is used.

2. Chat

A Crisp chat widget is available so you can message me directly. It loads on first interaction. If you start a conversation, Crisp processes the messages you send and standard technical data needed to deliver the chat. If you never open the chat, no conversation data is collected.

3. Cookies and local storage

• analytics_consent — remembers your accept/decline choice so the banner doesn't keep reappearing.
• Google Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga) — set only after you accept analytics.
• Crisp cookies — set only if you use the chat widget.

4. Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Netlify, which processes standard request data (such as IP address and user agent) to serve pages securely and protect against abuse.

5. Third parties

Data is processed only by the services that run this site:

• Google Analytics — aggregate, consent-based analytics.
• Crisp — chat, only when you use it.
• Netlify — hosting and delivery.

Your data is never sold.

6. Your choices

You can decline analytics at any time by choosing "Necessary only" in the banner, and you can clear the site's cookies in your browser to reset your choice. To request deletion of any chat history, just email me.
